This is the movie that capped my 2010 and made me tell myself I wanted to start writing about movies again. Lo and behold May came rolling in and still not a single review up. I haven’t been all that faithful to my movie going lately but thanks to my nagging sister I finally found the time to sit down and watch this movie. Anyway I’ll cut to the chase. Rob Reiner tackles boy-girl relationships set in the ’60s in the film adaptation to the book ‘Flipped,’. It’s a coming-of-age story told from two different views from the main characters, eighth graders Juli and Bryce. ‘Flipped’ shows a fresh adolescent perspective on love and loss. Even though the main characters in this movie are children, it seems that Flipped targets an adult audience- not because of its adult content, but it tackles life’s complexities that takes an adult to appreciate. Truth be told, this is but a vague review of a memory of a movie that sits nicely at the back of my head. More to come soon : )
